THE PROFESSIONAL SERIES

THE PROFESSIONAL SERIES – THE ENVIRONMENT GROUP

Level B2-C2

This group will meet once a month on Mondays. Ideally there will be 4-6 students in each group who share a professional interest in environmental issues in Finland and internationally. Your field of interest may, for example, be related to the urban environment, the marine environment, agriculture, energy, pollution and waste management or to funding growth in these areas.

Discussion work will focus on environmental issues in current affairs; we will also practise reading, listening and writing skills, and rehearse professional skills such as presentations and meetings.

If your current position requires you to discuss environmental issues in English, if you receive visitors from abroad or if you travel to conferences in other countries, whether you represent a public sector organisation or a private company, this course is a real opportunity for you to expand your vocabulary and improve your communication skills.

Teacher: Penelope Roux, a native English speaker from the south of England (standard English pronunciation). BA (hons) in Business and French, BICTEFL from the British Institute in Paris. After working for 20 years in finance, I started teaching ten years ago, first in France and now in Finland.
